Back to Top TenThe Everglades are in southeast Florida, and their appeal is very different from that of the Yellowstone. This is a swampy area that has a maze of river, streams, and lakes in it. The areas of fresh water and moderately brackish water hold more big largemouth and bream than just about any other place in the world. It is remotely possible that a world record bass could come from one of these waters. The saltier areas are home to redfish and sea trout in great numbers, as well as countless other species of fish. Using a live shrimp under a cork will catch the sea trout and redfish, as well as just about all the other species. Bonefish can be found in some areas as well, which is a delight to the fly-fisher. Just watch out for alligators... ![]() Everglades National Park |
