Apr 28, 2012 7:41:42 AM: The Bismarck Tribune is reporting good walleye fishing on the Missouri River. Apparently sizes are improving and jigs, minnows, plastics, and crankbaits are all producing fish. The Sakakawea is not producing walleyes yet, but smallies and northerns are producing.

Apr 28, 2012 7:54:39 AM: Around Cleveland, Lake Erie is off-color and the fishing has consequently been slow. Ponds have recently been stocked around NE Ohio with rainbows and this might offer a good alternative for fishermen wanting to get out. Visit the Ohio DNR Stocking Report Page for additional information on that. The thinking is that walleye might be best in Erie trolling minnow patterns in deeps water off reefs.

Why not try some crappie fishing in Erie along the shore around structure using small jigs and minnows on small hooks. If you are fishing Erie this might be your best shot at good fishing until clarity improves.

Steelhead fishing in NE Ohio is winding down in the rivers, but smallies are starting to pick up.
